Red Frog Bungalows is attempting to achieve Carbon Neutral Status. We have joined Carbonfund’s newly formed Carbon Free S
urfing Program. Working with Carbonfund.org, the leading non-profit climate change solution provider in the United States, Red Frog Bungalows will purchase carbon offsets in the form of reforestation projects in Central America. Carbon offsets are donated dollars to help support reforestation projects. We bought carbon offsets for daily boat surf trips, tow-in sessions and roundtrip flights from Hawaii to Panama. With this carbon offsetting program we are trying to become cabon neutral.
The primary option for Carbonfund’s is reforestation. SURFING Magazine committed to mangroves in India. Quiksilver is a proud sponsor and just recently, Kelly Slater, 8x World Surfing Champion, committed
to the same program. Slater is putting his efforts toward the San Juan Del Sur area in Nicaragua. Kelly will have 25 different indigenous species planted on a private reserve bordering the Escamequita River, which protects the watershed leading right to the beach. Carbonfund.org supports renewable energy, energy efficiency and reforestation projects globally that reduce carbon dioxide emissions and the threat of climate change
