The Bungalows and Gardens

Red Frog Bungalows are brand new. They were constructed in Bali Indonesia and sent to Panama. We then imported them to Isla Bastimentos and reconstructed the bungalows on Red Frog Beach. Scott Beck and Scott Balogh have been hard at work making sure they are comfortable and ready for you enjoy.

The setting is a lush tropical garden only steps away from the beach. The gardens are landscaped with tropical flowers from throughout Panama. We planted everything on the property to create a very private atmoshere without the use of walls. Our tropical gardens are the walls.

Our Tropical Gardens are 4 years old now and many exotic haliconia, plumeria, gardenia,  palms, and hibiscus are starting to produce large amounts of flowers. Not only do they smell good but the nectar produced in the flowers attracts large amounts of Butterflies and Hummingbirds. One of our regulars to the garden is The Blue Morpho. This butterfly is one of the most exotic in the world.  The hummingbirds are also very abundant. Panama has the most  varieties of hummingbirds in the world. At Red Frog Bungalows you will see many of the species just sitting on our patios. Parrots, yellow-tails, seahawks, woodpeckers, and pelicans are a few of the other hundreds that have been identified in the area.  

Eco-Tourism...Stay Green
 

We pride ourselves on being at the forefront of Sustainable Eco-Tourism in Panama. Red Frog Bungalows uses solar power, spring-fed filtered water, grey water evaporation canals, and plantation grown woods for the construction of homes and furniture. Rapid development in Bocas has strained the power, sewage and water systems.  We are happy to be off the grid and not  contributing to this growing problem. It is not difficlut but it does take careful planning and a desire to make a difference. 

Bangkirai Wood 

Bangkirai Wood is one of the five hardest woods on the planet. We have used this plantation grown hardwood in the construction of our bungalows. This means that it is extremely durable and resitant to weather damage as well as termites. This is good because Panama has both of them. If you are a termite you will probably not like our bungalows. If you appreciate beautiful wood and craftmenship you will love our bungalows. They are put together with stainless steel nuts and bolts. Prefabricated in Bali and reconstructed in Panama, Red Frog Bungalows is a one of a kind experience in Bocas Del Toro.
